What a treat for your ears!

On May 28th we will be performing an intimate evening of music at Svartvi Metalworks Studio in Oakland. This will be the ideal opportunity to introduce your friends to Quartet Rouge. See the calendar page for more info.

Art in the Alley was such a fun afternoon. Surrounded by talented artists, sunshine and interested passer-bys we blasted our tunes through Jack Kerovac alley.

And last week we performed to 3500 Californian business women. If only we'd known we were going to projected in close up onto those huge, huge screens......yikes!

Our kickstarter project got fully funded. YEAH! A huge THANK YOU to everyone who supported us. Editing, mixing etc. etc. is in the works....

NEW DATES posted on the calendar. Come catch a show or two!

Feb 16

We won a Grammy!

The winner of the 2011 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album is American Idiot, the cast recording. On our way back from performing at the 2010 Grammy Awards show in LA, we spent a few days recording the string tracks at Green Day's studio in Oakland. What a fun few days we had! And now one year later it's a Grammy winner.

And other news - we are in the midst of brewing up our debut CD. We will go into the studio in early March so are busy preparing ourselves: selecting songs, refining our chopping skills, adding sections, changing dynamics, writing a new song or 2.....

On Feb 25th we are performing a lunch time concert at SF State. See you there?

More dates coming for March, April and May - watch this space!

Jan 24

Quartet Rouge welcomes Genie Wie as it's newest member. NYC stole the heart of Erin so we were presented with the daunting task of finding a new violinist..... And then along came Genie! Her high energy, killer violin skills and adventurous spirit are a welcome addition to the group. YEAH!

"Where can I buy a CD?"

We've been asked this question SO many times.....we are happy to say that we will soon have an answer. We will be going into the studio in early March. We'll keep you posted as the plans evolve...Which of the songs you've heard us play do you want to hear on the CD? Let us know!

Dec 27

Well, our evening at Yoshi's has come and gone. What a great venue! What a treat to share the stage with such amazing musicians - Natasha, Rich, Sam, Dan, Maya - it was a delight! The holiday song we created was a Christmas remix of "Everybody's Got Their Something". We spun 3 traditional Christmas Carols into the song. I suppose we will have to wait a full year before we get to perform that one again!

Photos of the performance to come...

We hope you are having a fabulous Holiday Season. Wishing you good health and happiness. QR

Welcome to our new website! What do you think?

Quartet Rouge will be performing at Yoshi's, Oakland on December 20th for Natasha Miller's Annual Holiday Concert. We are seeking a Winter / Holiday themed song to arrange and perform. Youtube surfing is the current favorite pastime of the QR girls :) It seems that almost every rock artist in the past 30 years has created some sort of Winter or Holiday song - there are so many to choose from! Cheesy, fun, serious, slow....which way will we go?
